Stillreport: Yesterday, Maria Bartiromo got into a wild argument with Matt Gates over the upcoming budget shutdown. [insert to “… use the power of the purse.” @ 6:22 So far, there is nothing I can point out that I disagree with. This is all good stuff – just two different ways of going at the problem. But it’s about to really heat up. [insert from: “The speaker joined me… to: “…against the Speaker.” I’ve got to agree with Maria here. The worst mistake Matt Gates has ever made is to threaten to team up with the 3 or 4 communist left members of House Democrats. [insert from: “No, my vendetta….” To: “… do a single bill.” Right there you have it. Maria agrees that doing many smaller bills is the answer. The worst thing I’ve ever seen Congress do is to plop a 4,000 page omnibus spending bill on the tables of the members and give them 24 hours to read it.
