Glenn Greenwald – Julian Assange Update, 4141
Stillreport: Good morning. I’m still reporting on the coup. The U.S. Justice Department is pressuring some British journalists to cooperate with the prosecution of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, who is accused of publishing classified U.S. military documents leaked to him by a whistleblower. To the great surprise of most Canadians, CBC – the Canadian Broadcast Company – actually did some legitimate reporting on the status of Julian Assange by interviewing investigative journalist, Glenn Greenwald, who, though most people don’t know, was a former constitutional law attorney in the U.S. Insert at: “Family and supporters…. To “… cables in 2010 and 2011.” Over the years, this story has torn me. Having worked in classified settings for many years while doing YouTubes in my spare time, I understand the need for defense-related secrets, however, Assange was not a cleared person. He had sworn no oath to protect secrets, and I was happy to discover these revelations as WikiLeaks posted them. Remember, what the U.S. Justice Department is claiming is that Russians hacked into the servers of the DNC – Democrat National Committee – and then sent the damning information to WikiLeaks to be published.
